ELKO - A Florida man accused of breaking into two downtown businesses and five parked vehicles in the downtown area was arrested early Sunday morning on seven counts of burglary.

Christopher Glen Gibson, 27, of Pensacola, Fla., is accused of breaking into the vehicles, Seahorse Aquarium and Telescope Lanes at about 3 a.m.

It is not known what items, if any, were taken.

Seahorse Aquarium owner Ronnie Kehn said she received a phone call at about 4:45 a.m. Sunday from police who told her the window to her business was broken.

Items inside the business were moved, Kehn said, so someone apparently came inside, but nothing was missing and no cash was taken from the register.

While it is not known why nothing was taken, Terminator, the 14-foot Burmese python, might have been a deterrent.

Telescope Lanes owner Jon Karr reported three windows were broken at his business - one in the bowling area, one in the bar and one at the east end of the building where he plans to open a pizza parlor.

The window in the future restaurant site was large enough for a person to fit through, but the other two windows were too small.

A large rock thrown through the glass of the larger window was found approximately 20 feet inside the business, he said.

The police were called before the man was able to enter the business and nothing was taken, Karr said.

Gibson was arrested near Stockmen's Hotel and Casino. Bail was set at $35,000.
